Here is an excellent article showing the influence World War I had on the international prosthetic industry! We at United particularly identify with this, as the company was born during this era. In 1914, at the time of our incorporation, Philip Martino serviced many returning WWI veterans. We actually still have prostheses in our archives that resemble some of the prostheses seen in the article gallery. These men are truly inspirational in their advancements in prosthetic technology, and we have all respect in the world for serving these veterans.
