United Prosthetics’ own Julianne Gupta, CPO was filmed fitting Ottobock Empower prosthetic feet to a young woman at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown on @NBC10Boston (Jules can be seen at 1:32 in the video). The woman lost both of her legs below the knee in a boat explosion in the Bahamas last year. She returned to Spaulding last week to try some high tech prosthetic feet as part of her rehabilitation. The feet that Julianne has seen fitting are Ottobock Empower feet, which are the only “active” prosthetic feet currently on the market.
