Last weekend Femita, a long time member of the United family, was the guest of honor at Ossur’s Mobility clinic held in Boston. She was overcome with emotion when she was presented with a running prosthesis that was donated to her from us at United along with Ossur (a prosthetic componentry company that manufactures the style running foot pictured). Julianne (Femita’s prosthetist) was on hand to show her support as Femita slipped through various obstacles laid out on the field using the new prosthesis.
In the pictures, Femita is wearing the blue t-shirt (and red running shirt) and Julianne is in the purple polo shirt, for those of you who haven’t met them.
The clinic was presented by Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). CAF provides support and opportunities to people with physical challenges who wish to pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive sports.
