Cindy Uses Her New i-Digit Prosthetics for the First Time!

Watch Cindy Perform Fine Motor Tasks After Trying Her i-Digit Prosthetic Devices for the First Time

Cindy, who is missing all of the fingers on her right hand, received her very first i-Digits partial hand prosthesis and was kind enough to put on an impromptu demonstration for us. As she left her appointment, we put her on the spot to see how adept she was at stacking cups! She handled the challenge like a champ and successfully completed the task. Make no mistake- this is not an easy feat, especially after only having worn the new prosthesis for a couple of minutes. As she becomes accustomed to the new prosthesis and with more practice, she will be even quicker. Who knows, maybe we’ll see her on the cup-stacking tournament circuit!

Ossur i-Digit Prosthetics Allow for Quick Adaptation & Skill Learning for Everyday Tasks & Long-Term Independence

Cups were what we had around, but you can imagine how incredibly life-changing it is to go from not being able to grasp anything to be able to use a knife, fork, toothbrush, or keyboard, for example. Ossur’s i-Digits partial hand prosthetics allow new users, like Cindy, to quickly adapt and learn new skills, ultimately providing increased independence in their everyday lives. Through a system of sensors and motors, the i-Digits prosthesis mimics natural hand movements and provides a more intuitive experience for users. This makes it easier for individuals to pick up new fine motor skills and basic movements.
