United Prosthetics provides personalized prosthetic and orthotic care for patients in Hyde Park, MA and throughout Boston. With offices in nearby Dorchester and Quincy, our team serves patients across the Greater Boston area with custom-fit solutions designed around their individual needs.
Since 1914, United Prosthetics has combined hands-on experience with advances in prosthetic and orthotic technology to help patients stay mobile and independent. Our team works with both adults and children and takes the time to understand each patient’s needs, lifestyle, and goals. Learn more about our prosthetic and orthotic solutions or contact us to schedule a consultation.
At United Prosthetics, you’re in good hands. Your journey with us begins with an evaluation from one of our top prosthetists in order to determine the right prosthetic for you. A personalized treatment plan will then be created to fit your lifestyle. Once your prosthetic is created, our doctors will continue to check in with routine appointments to make sure your device is right for you.
During your initial consultation, one of our specialized prosthetists will perform a thorough evaluation to better understand your lifestyle and needs. This will include discussing your past medical history, previous prosthetic devices you may have had, and goals for your new device. For this appointment, be sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy access to the affected area for measurements and examination purposes.
At United, we understand that getting a new prosthetic device can be daunting at first. To help you feel comfortable with your new device, our artists can help you design a custom prosthetic socket that’ll make your device feel like you. From favorite sports teams to favorite artworks, your new prosthetic device can show off your personal style.
Our team at United will guide you through the donning process (putting on and taking off your device) along with how to use your new device. We will also make any necessary adjustments if needed.
With your new device, you will be offered physical therapy to help you regain fine and gross motor skills. We offer a variety of rehabilitation services, including grip strength training, movement coordination, and balance exercises to help you feel more comfortable with your device. Our therapists will also create a personalized therapy plan to help you achieve your goals.
Our team at United Prosthetics specializes in arm, hand, and chest prosthetics, including myoelectric devices, which uses electrical signals to control movements, and body-powered devices. United will work with you to determine the best device for your lifestyle and needs.
At United, we also specialize in lower-extremity prosthetics, including above and below the knee, hip, and ankle. Our team uses the latest technology in order to create prosthetics that are highly-advanced and high-functioning. Whether you need a specialized sports prosthetic, or a dog-walking-approved prosthetic, we’re here to help you get back on your feet.
Along with our prosthetic services, United proudly offers orthotic devices for adults and children in the Hyde Park area. Our services include fracture bracing, sports bracing, post-operative bracing, cervical orthotics, and custom shoe work. Whether you’ve recently experienced an injury or had surgery, our orthotic devices are a great option for your rehabilitation.
