Chris Komejko

chrisChris Komejko has been an amputee almost his entire life although you would not know it based on his success as an athlete.  An illness at the age of two forced Chris to have his right leg amputated below the knee.  Since then he has excelled at baseball, basketball, football, skiing, and ice hockey.

As early as junior high, Chris was playing basketball at the highest level on a traveling team.  His talents reached beyond the court and onto the football field where he helped his team capture the 1997 Championship title.  His performance in that game, which included 16 tackles, 2 caused fumbles, and a fumble recovery, earned him the game MVP.  Chris continued to play football throughout high school.

Most recently, Chris has been focusing on playing hockey as part of the American Amputee Hockey Association (AAHA).  As one of the first five members of the association he has garnered two silver medals with the team and has traveled all around the U.S. as well as to Canada, Russia, Latvia, and the Czech Republic.
